Yeah, I know. Just what everyone wants to hear more about, the RIAA. Anyway, I’ve got two stories about the RIAA.

The one from the NY Times is about how we’re a nation of cheaters and that the current young culture’s standards allows for easy manipulation of others work…I enjoyed the cut and paste abilties as a senior in high school (3 years ago now) as I had to write a 10 page paper about NASA. Not something I really wanted to do, so I wrote about 75% of it and copy, pasted, and edited the rest of it. I could’ve done the same thing with more of my content, but I wasn’t that much of a plagarist.

The one from The Motley Fool.com is a nifty story about how the RIAA is hurting itself more by suing it’s customer base. You can’t sure your customer base and still expect them to come and buy from you like cows. Eventually, enough people will get fed up with the RIAA’s bullshit and force them to behave like a good corporation. Catch up with the times RIAA.

I personally don’t use P2P programs unless I just hear a song that I have to have, but I won’t be able to stand the rest of the ablum. So protecting the ability to download is not my biggest concern. I want to be able to pull every piece of music I own and put it on my computer, my mini-disc player, or any other mode of listening I choose to use. If the RIAA wants to sue people and hunt people down, then they should really consider going after the bootleggers who actually make a living selling their ripped CDs. Leave the common man alone, and go after the real bad guys that are hurting your sales.
