So, an Era has ended. What a time it was. Bob Barker’s last episode of The Price is Right aired this afternoon. According to the Wank and O’Brien show this morning there was no fanfare or goodbye speach, just Bob’s standard closing phrase, “Remeber to have you pets spaded or neutered.”
I can remember watching Bob give away prises and playing games on afternoon TV when I was at my Grandma Carter’s house (technically Great-Grandma, but that’s not what I called her). I can remember seeing people spin the wheel, play giant Plinko, and some various guessing games. Just a part of childhood that just kinda lingers.
Anyway, just another change in life.
Of course, the Wiki page I linked says that Bob may come back for another season if they don’t find a decent host to replace him. Perhaps they should let it die with Bob’s departure because it just won’t be the same without him.
I miss seeing the show…maybe I’ll take a day off work soon (I’d say next week, but I may be doing over time for the next 2 weeks) and catch a re-run.

One of the funniest memories that sticks in my mind was one day when I went to pick up Lukey (as he was called when he was just a tot) at Grandma Carter’s he came running into the kitchen to greet me. He was still very worried and shook up that Bob Barker had gray hair. One day it was black and the next, gray! He kept asking, “What happened?”
