A Day in my Memory

by @ 10:54 pm on March 1, 2007.

I attempted to deliever the Third Lecture of the Entered Apprentice degree this evening. Approximately 2,000 words or so. This lecture is usually delivered from memory. I got a decent chunk of it, but unfortunately was unable to finish the lecture from memory as I just couldn’t remember how it was supposed to go. I ended up reading the last portion of it. It’s a good thing I can read a speach well.

I know the lecture; I just don’t know it. Oh, well. The information was shared even if not wholly from memory. If anyone wants to complain later they can do it themselves from now on.

Anyway, on to more fun things the rest of the degree went well even if we drug some things out a little longer than others. We shared a good adult beverage afterwards at a local establishment. Good times had by all.

I think that’s it for me tonight. Sleep comes soon and the Jack in my system will help me fall asleep faster than normal. TTFN.

Some of those lectures get…well…difficult to remember the flow. I suppose that is what happens when we innercross modern and old english into a hodgepodge assortment. Don’t get me wrong, a fair amount of the ritual sounds beautiful. Just sometime overly redundant overly (yes I did that on purpose) with some harsh transitions.

You do good work though…keep the chin up and remember that it is all for the candidates and it was the best they’ve ever seen :)
