Did something dumb tonight when I thought it would be a good joke/prank/whatever.
Turns out that it wasn’t funny…and I put the icing on the cake with a door slam. And the moment I did that I knew; I knew that something was amiss, but I’d already done the deed and couldn’t undo it.
Why is it that I never have the ability to think something through to the end? Or when i do think it through, why doesn’t my scenario ever get any where near reality? I thought the guys we were aiming at wouldn’t be that hard hit by it…kinda get ‘em to jump but then they’d think it was a good jab. I let it blow up beyond what it should’ve been. Should’ve left it at the cake and not put on the icing.
Sigh. I just hope that the cement holds and we can begin to rebuild the friendship that was so easily fractured. Next time around I’ll be sure to err well on the side of caution and do my best to mitigate the damage that a quick prank can cause.
We’ll see how things turn out in the morning and what happens next Thursday. I’m going to go to bed now.
