Went to the Thorn Banquet tonight. It went swimmingly.
Of course, there was a little mix-up with the place for the banquet thanks to the original choice being closed for maintenance this weekend.
We had a wonderful time. Bob S. and I gave out the “Paper Plate Awards” and everyone found them hilarious and had a good ‘ole time. Pictures were taken and hilarity ensued.
Anyway, then we got all sentimental and had some of that too. Lissa-love had arranged for Bob S. and I to get plaques for our tenure on the Thorn.
The Hizzouse (the Thorn Advisor) started a new tradition and gave out graduation gifts to the seniors. We each got a personalized book of some sort. Bob S. got a movie making book and everyone else got something equally personal.
I got “The Stories of Vladimir Nabokov” and his inscriptions starts: “This is a beautiful but strange book.” Hehe, I’m not strange am I?
Anyway, I’m waiting on some pics from other attendees but I’ll post them as soon as I get a chance.
