Just finished one of the more interesting weekends I’ve had in a while.
I went up to Purdue to see Amber who also invited Crysto and her boyfriend David.
I’m not sure, but I don’t think I’ve seen him since high school graduation. (He was in my class - which is a year behind Crysto.) Anyway, we got along well. I had lots of fun and I remember most of it.
We went out to a couple of bars, and while it’s not something that I’ll do on a weekly occasion it’s something I might enjoy on a more weekly/monthly excursion. Far too many people shoved into far too tight of a spot for me to function properly. We’ll see tho…I might change my mind depending on how things turn out.
Saturday morning was Breakfast Club for their Grand Prix. Turns out the Grand Prix is a go-kart race for charity. Anyway, apparently for breakfast club it’s tradition to dress up in costumes and go drinking in the morning. So, we spent some time on Friday figuring out what our costumes should be…especially since Amber and Crysto had put thought into theirs while David and I hadn’t.
David and I went through a couple of ideas, but ended up deciding to split some of the materials to be picnics. That’s right picnics. We bought the cheapest picnic table clothes we could find and cut holes in the middle. Then we bought some chips (which are important) and I got Doritos Nacho Cheese. We stuck other things on ourselves that are picnicy with duct tape. As it turns out, we were rather popular. As we walked to the bar and around places people kept saying something or noticing us. That was pretty cool.
But the best part is that before we had gone 20 feet through the door someone was trying to get David to open his chips. He did…she wasn’t bad looking either. As I was getting ready to sit in our booth I attracted some attention and opened my Doritos. I had 5 or 6 ladies stop and end up eating a chip. I had one use the sandwhich I had taped to myself in a sexual innuendo…never realized a sandwhich could be so naughty. Most interesting day.
Like I said the bar scene isn’t something I’d really get into, but it’s definately fun to do on occasion.
Now to the really, really annoying part of the story: it was freakin’ cold!! What I want to know is since when does it SNOW in April. We had snow flakes and ice Saturday and Friday night I’d say we had freezing rain. WTF is up with that…Spring is supposed to start in May. I don’t remember going back into Winter before going to Summer. And I think the high today was maybe 40 *F, maybe. I nearly froze because I thought it would get chilly, not deathly cold, so I only had shorts and t-shirts with me. I didn’t even take a jacket. Sigh. Next time I head somewhere that’s forecasting snow I’ll take pants with me.
Senior Symposium on Wednesday. I have to finalize my presentation and be 100% prepared to give it by then. I’m still debating on which shirt to wear. The blue or white shirt with my black suite. I don’t know which would make me stand out and be interesting. I’m thinking the white because it makes me look a little more stark.
Oh, and 33 days until graduation and 24 until Episode III.
