Luke says Moo!

My life and the world as I see it. It’ll mostly be a place for me to gripe and friends to keep up with me.

SEP Interview

by @ 4:59 pm on March 16, 2005.

Had my Interview with a top dog at SEP…I believe it was a president. Unfortunately, I don’t have his card with me and I can’t remember his exact title.

Anyway, we spoke for a while and went through the standard: Why do you want to work here? What do you want to do? Etc.

But it turns out that he knows a guy that has a job that I’d like. He also gave me a new job title to try and search for: field applications engineer. From there he has a friend who does that sort of work and is going to send me his contact information. So that’s good. Hopefully, I’ll have the nerve, time, and energy to give him a call.

But my interviewer said that he will consider me for a position, but one that’s very different from anyone else that he had spoken to. Makes me feel all warm and tingling inside to know that I’m special. Bah. They’re considering extending the work that’s done in testing for FDA and other medical things and they need someone capable of working on embedded microprocessors to do that. We’ll see; he said three weeks or so and they’d have an idea if they found something that would work.

The guy was all about the “fit.” He was very specific about wanting to know if I really wanted to do that type of work since I was looking for something different, but I’m not sure that what I’m looking for exists, so I’ll take the next best thing.

And I’m tired now. I wore these stupid shoes all day and they’ve made my feet and are starting to make my back sore. I’ve still got a meeting to go to about paying of the Stafford Loans and hopefully a meeting with last quarter’s Database’s prof. because Dr. 7 thinks and has useful data that might possibly get us both bumped up to A’s in that class. Let’s hope it works out.

To the Thorn meeting I go!
