Voting in Iraq seems to have gone well

by @ 5:25 pm on January 30, 2005.

From Iraq the Model and Sun of Iraq we see that voting seems to have gone ok in Iraq.

“Today, there’s no voice louder than that of freedom. God bless your brave steps sons of Iraq and God bless the defenders of freedom.”

A couple of people have said turn out of like 8 million people or about 60% of the population. That’s not doing too bad if you ask me especially considering we, the US, average about 50% voter turn out and have averaged that for about three decades.

So as far as I can tell Iraq’s got a good start on the think for yourself and govern yourself system. We’ll see how it works out.

Hopefully our troops won’t have to stay there for years on end to try and keep the peace. Which they did a good job of since the death toll for the day was rather low.

Some people were walking 13 miles one way to be able to vote. Old people were being carried on paletes to be able to have the opportunity to vote in their lifetime. Wow.
