Luke says Moo!

My life and the world as I see it. It’ll mostly be a place for me to gripe and friends to keep up with me.

So many thoughts

by @ 1:37 am on January 12, 2005.

Argh. I’ve got so much stuff running through my head I’m finding it difficult to think.

So many things I want to write about this, that, and the other.

I’ve got a couple of ideas for things that need to be fleshed out and sent in to the 2015: a conversation initiative for the future of Rose.

I’m going to be writing a story for this week’s edition of the Rose Thorn and it’ll take a little bit of work that I’m sure will only happen on Thursday night and everyone will be most unhappy with me. Oh, well it’s stuff that needs to be said. I’ll link to the story later.

To write the story, I stole an hour of Dr. Midgley’s time after school. I went and saw the last little bit of the Institute meeting and then went to SGA for a few and then to his office for an hour long impromtu interview. I wasn’t prepared for it so it went kinda haphazardly, but it was for a story that needs to go out this week if at all possible.

And of course while speaking to him I asked a couple of personal questions and it turns out that I should’ve trusted some of my instincts for a job earlier. He suggested that I would be good as an Technological/Engineering Sales person and I have to agree with him. To be honest I don’t see myself doing design for any longer than I need to. He also reconfirmed the idea that grad school right now wouldn’t be good, but that I should go to the “school of hard knocks” for a couple of years and then go to a big name buisness school.

Oh, and we’re doing scheduling this week for next quarter. Talk about stress…I have to decide if I want to take a crazy computer science class with Dr. 7 or if I want to take a crazy ece class by my lonesome just to see what partner I end up with. We’ll see where that goes. Maybe if I have the energy I’ll post more about class choices tomorrow. Of course, I only have until Monday to find my advisor and get permission to register since I register at 9am on Tuesday.

Oh, and we had a critical design review for senior design today and it went horribly. Absolutely horrid. They changed how they wanted things presented…the last two reviews were laid back and very informal. This time they want a polished, well-prepared, ready-to-go, sell the product type of presentation. I wasn’t ready for that big of a jump. I did a little better job than the previous times, but not to what they wanted. I really wish they’d document some stuff like that so I’d know what to expect.

To top off this week I’m trying to get some different dosages of medicinces and Wal-Mart didn’t tell me anything useful except that they couldn’t fill my order. Very annoying. So I go to Kroger and they call me back and we work through our problems with the insurance company. Turns out I was changing my meds to close to a purchase made last month…and my new stuff’ll be ready on Thursday. Such nice people at Kroger. I think I’ll go there for the rest of my time in Terre Haute.

It also took a phone call to mom.
Jerm has been home for two days with strep throat. Of course, his girlfriend went to immediate care on Sunday and was diagnosed. He went on Tuesday. Huh.

Spotted you in a photo where you are trying to look at old poster from some workshop. It is in the little magazine they send parents.
