Some things change…a lot.
Friday of last week (8-13-04) was the last day of band camp for my high school and this makes two years that I’ve not gone in even for a visit during the rehearsals.
For that matter, I’ve meant to blog something about it, but it just never seemed pressing. Last year I felt left out and missed band camp, but this year I know that I’m not part of that any more and just spent a little time remembering the fun had with the Golden Band.
I guess I’m finally realizing that I’m not part of the band any more. A little part of me lives on there…and due to some adventures I left a little bit of a legacy, but I am no longer needed. I guess I wasn’t really needed after I graduated, but I like to think I was needed even just a little bit.
Oh, well. I’m useful elsewhere now…instead of a trumpet, I now wield the almighty dollar and swing some ideas around for the Rose Thorn.
Growing up takes a little while…but I’m still going to go to a practice next week…hopfully they’ll have enough drill on the field for me to see a decent part of the show.
I miss you Mrs. L and Connie and everyone else.
