Well, I got my first mass spamming today. Every single post had a comment by the same bot putting in stuff about gambling online. Very, very annoying.
I hope the mother of the person that wrote that code finds out about it, and then beats them.
Anyway, I had a wonderful experience using MT-Blacklist which not only went through and removed all of the comments, but pulled the hyperlinks out of the posts and added them to the block list.
Now let’s hope that no more spammers of that sort make it in because it really caused my e-mail account to fill up…219 posts worth of comments is a lot of e-mail.

I recently upgraded to MT 2.661 and MT-Blacklist. LOVE IT. I do a pretty good job of skimmig new comments, but I missed two that blacklist picked up on. Then I added a couple. And it’s great. Now I need to do this PHP script I have running so that it can download new lists for blacklist automatically. Once I figure out where PHP is on my server (cause I just can’t find it), then I edit the cronjob, and away it goes.
